Dr. Bethany Nordahl
Helping you find relief from leakage, pelvic pain, pregnancy and postpartum issues.
For women in general (mom or not!), society has led us to believe that most of our pelvic health issues are "normal". It's normal to have shooting pain in your pelvis, to pee your pants when you run/jump/sneeze/cough, to have a "mom pooch", to have pain with intercourse, to be controlled by your bladder urgency. Spoiler alert...none of these things are normal!
Arrow Pelvic Physical Therapy is a physical therapy and wellness practice specializing in the treatment of women's pelvic health, perinatal, and post natal rehabilitation.
We provide a specialized assessment of the pelvic floor muscles and core system. We also assess and treat the entire body outside of the pelvic floor to ensure true and lasting resolution of your symptoms.
Let us help you take control of your pelvic health!
Want to know more about pelvic floor physical therapy or have questions about your symptoms or condition? Schedule a complimentary phone consult with Dr. Bethany Nordahl to get your questions answered and see how pelvic floor PT can benefit you! If we are a good fit for you, we will schedule your initial visit over the phone.
The initial evaluation includes a time for you to tell us your story, education on the pelvic floor system in relation to your condition and the path it will take to get you to your goals. We will complete a full head to toe physical evaluation and pelvic floor assessment including and internal exam if indicated. We will again discuss our findings and set a plan together to get you where you want to be!
Follow up sessions are typically recommended on a weekly basis initially and are important to the progress toward your goals. This is where we use manual therapy techniques and individualized coached exercises to address your issues as well as dive deeper into discovering the true root cause of your issues.
If you are in a rural Montana area (outside the Billings/Laurel/Hardin area), we can meet over a virtual platform. While I would love to see you in person, the truth is that a lot can be done virtually!
What to expect:
I may have you get up and show me how you move and even have you lay down on the floor to coach you through some self assessments. I will NOT ask to see your vagina over the camera! Through education, visual demonstrations and coaching we will figure out a plan together to address your needs!
Hi! I'm so glad you're here!
I am a mom of three and my own pelvic health issues through pregnancy and postpartum led me to my passion for pursuing pelvic floor physical therapy and creating this business. I saw such a gap in care for women after having a baby and further discovering general pelvic health issues being ignored, down played or left untreated. I knew women deserved better access and better care. I wanted to create an experience that allowed me to BEST serve this commonly underserved population so I dreamed up Arrow Pelvic Physical Therapy. Not only do I understand the physical and emotional challenges women face with pelvic floor dysfunction (because I've been there too!), I understand and am passionate about helping them heal.
You are not alone.
I hope to meet you soon!
Every appointment will be with Bethany, a doctor of physical therapy, for the entire length of the session. Each session is 60 minutes of hands on, one-on-one treatment. The initial evaluation will consist of a head to toe assessment, including an internal pelvic floor assessment if indicated. We will gather all the information we need to set the best treatment plan for you. Each follow up session will also be 60 minutes involving education, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education and personalized guided exercises to move you forward toward your goals!
No! Montana allows direct access to a physical therapist without need for a physician referral. This means you can save valuable time and money!
The short answer is, it depends! The course of treatment depends on your goals and chronicity of symptoms. Typically treatment will start with 1 visit per week. Each visit we are exploring new layers to get to the root of the problem and we strive to provide true and lasting relief so follow up and completing your plan of care that we discuss is important!
Arrow Pelvic PT specializes in treating women. You can visit pelvicguru.com or pelvicrehab.com to find a provider who treats male issues.
Pelvic floor physical therapists have specialized training in assessment of the pelvic floor muscles, nerves and connective tissues of the pelvic floor which truly sets us apart from a regular physical therapist. This is most often performed vaginally. The internal exam and treatment is a helpful component to assessing and relieving symptoms, however it is absolutely never required. It is not the same as a pelvic exam performed by an OB or midwife.
The best way to contact for scheduling is to book a free phone consult or to call us directly.
